The "shot heard round the world" takes on a whole new meaning now. Orange Is the New Black Season 5 will premiere June 9, 2017. Fans are in a freak-out, and it's all thanks to Daya, CO Humphrey, and a gun. Will she shoot the officer, or will she resist temptation?

"According to Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee, the new season will document just three days in Litchfield Penitentiary for a 'very detailed, very intense experience," the Huffington Post relays.

She would know. In Season 4, her character lost more than a friend. She lost her family: Poussey. During the prisoners' protest, the young woman suffocated under CO Bayley's weight. Even though Taystee tried to save her, guards held her down, too.

She watched her sister die, and there was nothing Taystee could do. No matter how loud audiences cried, there was nothing they could do, either. How can the upcoming season top such emotion? There is at least one theory. The actress Lori Petty (Lolly) shares her thoughts about Season 5.

"Here's what I assume -- and this is because it's all about me, right? -- we go into psych and Mr. Healy was there, and I'm screaming and crying. I did some looping ... I realize that they built a huge hallway with rooms and a whole set. So I'm thinking it's going to be: Psych! Starring Lori Petty! I just assumed they'd go to psych, like they go to the SHU ... I saw the set and that's what I thought," she says.

If viewers only witness three days at Litchfield Penitentiary, then fans can expect to get personal. Like the hidden contraband at Litchfield, there's so much more to uncover.

Fans want the cliffhanger solved first, though. Will Daya use the gun? Will she give it to another inmate? Or will she take a darker turn? Here's what will probably not happen: Daya won't just put the weapon down. The thought's nice, but it's also boring. Jenji Kohan understands that, and so does the cast.
