As I’m sure you already know, Disney bought the Star Wars franchise from George Lucas and so far, the cast and crew have been very optimistic and excited about the series reboot.

Speaking at the Star Wars Celebration Europe being held this weekend in Germany, Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) has said that he is “excited and astonished” about the seventh instalment of the Star Wars series. “It’s great that Disney are going to take it forward and do it differently – things always have to change – and that George Lucas has released it to be done that way, in fact positively encouraged it.”

C-3PO actor, Anthony Daniels admitted that he “[t]hought it [the series] would die out when George retired, it never occurred to me that there was this torch bearer, who is moving very rapidly to share Star Wars on an even wider basis than before,” he said speaking of producer, Kathleen Kennedy.

Star Wars: Episode VII is due to be released in 2015.
