Schitt’s Creek may have ended last week and we’re already missing it. So to fill the Schitt’s Creek-sized hole in our hearts, we’re looking back on some of our favourite episodes from past seasons.
Season 1 Episode 3: “Don’t Worry, It’s His Sister”
Johnny begins making an effort to sell the town and he thinks it might be easier if he can remove the obscene town sign. However, it might be a challenge to get the sign taken down since the town sign features Roland’s family. Meanwhile, Moira has a meltdown over anonymous comments about her on the internet and Johnny puts Alexis in charge of taking care of her. But Alexis doesn’t do a very good job and Moira agrees to give an acting lesson to Jocelyn’s class. Moira’s best piece of advice for the children: “Don’t let the bastards get you down.” Maybe she shouldn’t be teaching mid-crisis.
Season 1 Episode 6: “Wine and Roses”
Moira gets the opportunity to film a commercial for the local winery, Herb Ertlinger Winery, which specializes in fruit wine. But Moira has trouble getting back in the saddle. She keeps fumbling her lines and spirals into hysteria until Johnny can calm her down. David suffers a panic attack, which is a new experience, so Alexis suggests that he join her for Twyla’s partner yoga class in Mutt’s barn. David and Alexis refuse to partner together so Alexis partners with Mutt and David partners with Jocelyn. It’s a little awkward.
Season 2 Episode 1: “Finding David”
David is missing and so is Moira’s bag. Johnny and Stevie are the only ones concerned about finding David. Alexis has a lot going on with Ted and Mutt since they aren’t leaving and Moira’s priority is finding the bag. Johnny eventually gets the family in the car to go find David. It turns out David has imposed himself on an Amish family and has been there for the last three days. And the Amish family can’t wait to get rid of him. But all that matters is that David and the bag are back home safe and sound.
Season 2 Episode 2: “Family Dinner”
Moira decides to cook a meal for her family and enlists David’s help. David and Moira commandeer Roland and Jocelyn’s kitchen for the afternoon to make enchiladas (pronounced: ahn-chiladas). This mother-son bonding time quickly derails when neither of them can figure out how to “fold in the cheese”. You just fold it, right? David leaves in a huff wondering what he’s supposed to do with the broken cheese and Moira wishes she was as resourceful as she once was. Meanwhile, Johnny searches for office space and Alexis decides if it’s going to be Mutt or Ted.
Season 4 Episode 12: “Singles Week”
Love is in the air as singles descend upon Schitt’s Creek for its first annual Singles Week. And as Singles Week kicks off, Jocelyn goes into labour. Moira goes with Jocelyn (and yes, Jocelyn’s driving) to the hospital since she can’t get ahold of Roland, leaving Singles Week in Alexis’ hands. Fortunately, Alexis has trained for this and gets Singles Week rolling all by herself. David goes to the vet to drop some things off for Ted and the two of them get chatting. David and Ted both realize they’ve got pretty good partners (or potential partners) if they really want it.
Season 5 Episode 8: “The Hospies”
The Rosebud Motel has been nominated for a Hospie Award (a regional hospitality award) for “Best Customer Service at a Motel Under 20 Units”. It’s a big deal. Johnny’s excited and so is Stevie. But Stevie’s mostly excited to see Amir and maybe spend the weekend with him. Sadly, though, that doesn’t work out for the two of them. Back in Schitt’s Creek, Moira and Jocelyn continue auditions for the lead role of Sally Bowles in the Cabaret production. They’re thinking of putting an ad in BroadwayWorld.com when Alexis says she wants to audition. Moira tries to steer Alexis clear of the production. Alexis shows up for the audition and performs her iconic number from her critically reviewed reality show “A Little Bit Alexis”. It’s terrible and delightful at the same time. It really is a little bit Alexis.
Season 5 Episode 9: “The M.V.P.”
Schitt’s Creek is divided for its annual baseball finale, I mean, championship. Neither team has enough players to play so Patrick recruits David for his team, after promising he just has to put on a uniform and stand in the outfield, and Roland recruits Johnny for his team, and Johnny actually wants to play. Things get heated when Johnny coaches David before and during the game even though they’re on opposite teams and the game unleashes Patrick’s competitive side. Back at the town hall, rehearsals for Cabaret are underway as Moira tries to lead a terrified Stevie in some acting exercises.
Season 6 Episode 5: “The Premiere”
It’s the moment we have all been waiting for the Crows! Movie! Premiere! Alexis, the PR pro decides to host a premiere of the Crows Have Eyes 3: The Crowening in Schitt’s Creek to drum up some press and publicity. The movie is already streaming on Interflix. But the small town screening turns into chaos when more and more people get invited and the live crows attack the guests. Meanwhile, Patrick gets his wisdom teeth out and reveals, while high on pain meds, that he wants to have a baby. Naturally, this causes David to panic. Stevie also decides that she wants to stay and work on the Rosebud Motel expansion with Johnny.
