Voices Against Violence is a campaign that was set up by crooner Tony Bennett, his son Danny and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. According to their website, http://voicesagainstviolence.com/ they vow not to be “silent as gun violence continues to devastate our communities” and advocate “common sense gun laws that will keep our communities and children safe”.

The campaign encourages Americans to get in touch with their Senator to say “Enough is Enough!” and that guns need to be kept out of the wrong hands.  Look To The Stars quotes Tony Bennett as saying “We the people need to make our voices heard on this issue… This is a job for the people, not the politicians.”

Voices Against Violence asks users to text MYVOICE to 877877 where they will be asked for their ZIP code. Following this they will be rung back with a message from Sir Paul McCartney and prompted to leave a voice message for their Senator. Users can also call 1-888-997-3976. The website provides an example of the message you can leave your Senator.

McCartney is the latest in a long line of celebrities that have backed the campaign. Some of them include Mia Farrow, Josh Groban, Gloria Estefan, Alec Baldwin and Rosie O’Donnell.
