Migos and Gucci Mane dropped their collab “I Get The Bag” last Friday, while students were arriving to their designated dorms… and routine parties.

The song comes on the heels of college classes, which begin around the country next week. Before the stress of studies, 8am English, and a 2.3 GPA get you down, get down (I couldn’t resist), listen to three of the hottest rappers of the summer, not to mention year. With Quavo on the chorus and Takeoff reciting verses for a minute (finally), Gucci brings both flow and lyrics to the beat.

With rhymes like “Jay-Z couldn’t even co-sign for me/I do what I want ’cause I’m signed to me” and “I don’t even like to freestyle for free/I put in the key and I ride the beat,” the “East Atlanta Santa” proves he remains at the top along with men considered “better” than The Beatles. (It’s literally an autofill on Google).

The only person missing? Offset. He and Quavo partnered together with other artists, like Lil Uzi Vert, Calvin Harris, and Frank Ocean, without Takeoff. He came back with a vengeance though.

If you stan for Takeoff, then you definitely need “I Get The Bag” on your iPhone playlist, especially since everything, from his flow to rhyme, stayed true to his talents.

Whether you hitch a ride to Art 101 or your favorite late-night nightclub, the song honestly turns your mood to high volume. And if you want to experience either artist, buy tickets to their respective tours. Migos and Gucci stay on the road until early November, and while your first semester ends in December, try to find time (and money) to see the legends in person. If their concerts are even half as lit as their songs, then your money’s well spent.
