After 25 years, Kim Deal of Pixie has decided to call it quits as the bassist.
The band released a statement on their Facebook page confirming the split:
We are sad to say that Kim Deal has decided to leave the Pixies. We are very proud to have worked with her on and off over the last 25 years. Despite her decision to move on, we will always consider her a member of the Pixies, and her place will always be here for her. We wish her all the best.

Deal, who had an on-again/off-again relationship with the band, first joined in 1986 when she responded to an ad they placed in the Boston Phoenix.
The band recently raised over $200,000 on a Kickstarter for a scrapbook of the band’s history.
