Darren Criss is out on his Listen Up Tour and his set list is a combination of covers and new material. His new music has been well received thus far. His new turns are upbeat, fun, and destined to take over the pop charts.
We have heard Darren cover many top 40 hits on Glee, and many Disney songs over the years. Not since his EP Human, however, have we really gotten to hear his original material. Now that we have heard some, we are greedy and want more.
Now all we can do is wait until we get studio qualities of these spanking new tracks that we already love. C’mon Darren. Out with the album already.
Any Of Those Things
This up-beat song is so fun, and is already a fan favourite. Criss definitely knows how to own a pop tune. He doesn’t just cover them, he can write them too. Fingers crossed that this is the first single released off of his eventual album.
I Don’t Give a Damn
While the title implies a song full of anger and angst, it is actually quite the opposite. This sugary sweet song is a swoon worthy serenade that will be repeated again and again on iPods as a sweet Darren Criss lullaby.
This song, and even the title, is insanely catchy. After his first performance, thanks to YouTube this song graced the ears of many fans eager to hear Darren’s new material. Don’t be shocked if you attend one of his stops and most people already know the words. It helps that Darren picks out a “picture perfect girl” at every performance.
This jazzy song will make you melt. Yes. He is singing right to you. He loves you. He really does. This sultry song proves that Criss really is good with words. Oh Darren. Always modest.
This song is likely to be heard soon on the Top 40 list. This song is catchy, fun, and makes you want to get up and dance. It will make you nostalgic and in an instant good mood.
Once Upon A Time
“This is a song about longing for the beginning but being happy with the present,” says Criss. This song is stripped down, honest, and honest to god beautiful. Criss has a way of moving you with his music, and this will definitely be a track repeated often on iPods.
