We here at PopWrapped are wrapping up our tribute tonight honoring our jukebox hero, Gleek and overall ultimate kind spirit, Cory Monteith. A life definitely that was taken too soon from us, Cory Monteith has left an indelible mark on our hearts and souls.
The point of our tribute was to remind everyone to celebrate Cory’s AMAZING life, work, & public service, instead of focusing on his tragic & untimely passing. There will never be another person like him in this world, and for that we will never stop believing in him.
For Cory:
“I Carry Your Heart”
Melissa LoParco: The Ultimate Hockey Fanboy
One thing that Cory loved to make known to the public was just how Canadian he was.
As a Canadian myself, I would always feel a sense of pride when he would speak so fondly of this beautiful country – especially when he talked about hockey.
If there is one thing I am more fanatic about than pop culture it is hockey; and the fact that this highly regarded and talented actor from one of my favourite television shows was just as fanatical as I was about it was…well, awesome.
What really stood out when it came to Cory’s passion for the game – and his team, the Vancouver Canucks – was how outspoken he was about it.
Cory’s twitter during the hockey season, and especially the playoffs, hold some of my favourite moments that I will never forget.
The one that I remember most was back when the Glee tour was making its rounds, and it just so happened that there was a big Vancouver game against San Jose…while they were in San Jose.
It was great, he was constantly updating his Twitter and asking for results and the score; I was right along for the ride, tweeting him any update I could.
Best part: the Canucks won that night, and he was ecstatic.
I know for some, small things like this won’t be very memorable moments. But I’m willing to bet that any hockey fans in the Glee fandom are going to remember all of Cory’s crazy hockey tweets and miss them terribly when the season starts up again in October.
On that tragic Sunday, my time line was filled with not just the condolences from the entertainment world, but from the hockey world as well.
Our thoughts go out to family and friends of Cory Monteith. We’ll miss having him on our side. pic.twitter.com/SYX5Wvu2Tc

“@CoryMonteith and @kbieksa3 #RipCoryMonteith pic.twitter.com/yxysRV4D5L” He was a great guy and avid Canucks fan. Rest in peace Cory.
— Kevin Bieksa (@kbieksa3)
Saddened to hear about the passing of our buddy Cory Monteith. He defined Canucks mega fan. RIP boss!
— Green Men (@TheGreenMen)
This is just a small selection from the Vancouver Canucks, Kevin Bieksa (a player on the Canucks, and the infamous Vancouver Green Men.
So let’s not just remember Cory as a talented, generous actor, but also a passionate hockey fan that wanted nothing more than to see his favourite team host the Stanley Cup over their heads.
The Glee fandom and the hockey world are going to miss you terribly.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Susan Booth: The Fun-Free Spirit
The one thing that I loved the most about Cory was his sense of humor. Whenever he made a joke during interviews or in his role as Finn Hudson on Glee, his sense of humor always had me laughing so hard that sometimes it would actually make me cry. I will always love the Grilled Cheezus episode of Glee, and how he was so convinced that Jesus was on the grilled cheese sandwich.
I also loved it when Cory laughed, he had a laugh that was one of those laughs that made you want to laugh just because some else was laughing. When he played Finn in Glee, he had this knack for showing how silly Finn could be and how much, and even how little Finn knew about things. In the sex ed episode, where Holly Holiday talked to Finn about thinking he got Quinn pregnant via hot tub, I nearly died laughing when he said how dubious he was.
I’m really going to miss all of those awesome and very funny one-liners of his.
