We here at PopWrapped are wrapping up our tribute tonight honoring our jukebox hero, Gleek and overall ultimate kind spirit, Cory Monteith. A life definitely that was taken too soon from us, Cory Monteith has left an indelible mark on our hearts and souls.

The point of our tribute was to remind everyone to celebrate Cory’s AMAZING life, work, & public service, instead of focusing on his tragic & untimely passing. There will never be another person like him in this world, and for that we will never stop believing in him.

For Cory:

"I Carry Your Heart"

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
                                                      i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
(E.E. Cummings)

Melissa LoParco: The Ultimate Hockey Fanboy

One thing that Cory loved to make known to the public was just how Canadian he was.

As a Canadian myself, I would always feel a sense of pride when he would speak so fondly of this beautiful country - especially when he talked about hockey.

If there is one thing I am more fanatic about than pop culture it is hockey; and the fact that this highly regarded and talented actor from one of my favourite television shows was just as fanatical as I was about it was…well, awesome.

What really stood out when it came to Cory’s passion for the game - and his team, the Vancouver Canucks - was how outspoken he was about it.

Cory’s twitter during the hockey season, and especially the playoffs, hold some of my favourite moments that I will never forget.

The one that I remember most was back when the Glee tour was making its rounds, and it just so happened that there was a big Vancouver game against San Jose…while they were in San Jose.

It was great, he was constantly updating his Twitter and asking for results and the score; I was right along for the ride, tweeting him any update I could.

Best part: the Canucks won that night, and he was ecstatic.

I know for some, small things like this won’t be very memorable moments. But I’m willing to bet that any hockey fans in the Glee fandom are going to remember all of Cory’s crazy hockey tweets and miss them terribly when the season starts up again in October.

On that tragic Sunday, my time line was filled with not just the condolences from the entertainment world, but from the hockey world as well.

This is just a small selection from the Vancouver Canucks, Kevin Bieksa (a player on the Canucks, and the infamous Vancouver Green Men.

So let’s not just remember Cory as a talented, generous actor, but also a passionate hockey fan that wanted nothing more than to see his favourite team host the Stanley Cup over their heads.

The Glee fandom and the hockey world are going to miss you terribly.

Kimberley Santos: My Top 5 Favorite Cory/Finn Moments

I hesitated in adding something; because I’ve never been one to really get involved in a fandom, save for being on Tumblr. Save for being on message boards back in the day. But I wasn’t one to add to a birthday book to send to a celebrity, or a campaign such as that. I just adored from afar if you will.
When Glee came on the scene, oh I was SO happy. I’m not a traditional musical lover - but I love music. I love pop culture. I love a good theme. Glee had all of that in the bag.
Finn as a leading man for me was perfect. He was clean cut, sure he was a jock but he wasn’t that stereotypical high school jock. He was a bit awkward. He was actually sweet. My friends would tend to go for Puck, wanting the bad boy - but as the seasons went on, Finn proved that he was just the kind of flawed lead that was more realistic than Puck was ever written to be. He wasn’t the best singer, clearly not the best dancer, he had some interesting theories on how Quinn got pregnant, but he always wanted to do better. He always knew he was like, a work in progress. He strived to be better. He made mistakes, and he wanted to learn from them. That’s why Finn was always my favourite character; and I have saw myself in Rachel Berry (season 1 and 2 only I’d say though)
Here are the 5 performances of Cory and the cast that hold a particular special place in my heart:

I’ll Stand By You

He was singing to a sonogram! A few people I knew to them saw this as too cheesy and ridiculous but this was the essence of Finn trying his best to be a good person, to be a good father, even if he was scared to death. I already loved this song, but this almost makes it harder to listen to now.

This song is probably one of my favourites that I saw in a finale. Surprising as I’d never actually heard it before.. But the fact that it was a true Finn and Rachel moment, and he was leading them in one of their most powerful medleys. Glorious. That entrance from the audience, down the aisles - I still turn this up loud.

Good Vibrations

I know. A Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch song, that Finn, Puck and Mercedes incorrectly classed as funk? But this was SO much fun to watch. Cheesy, dorky, the outfits they were. The lyrics they changed to suit Finn and Puck, and even the fellow Glee cast clearly enjoying the show. I love this performance.

Just the Way You Are

Furt as an episode still gives me goosebumps. It frustrates me too, but maybe I was always protective of Finn and I didn’t want it to be all about Kurt. But Finn’s performance of this, and dancing with Kurt - its the kind of beautiful that does make me weepy. You can see the pride in Carol’s eyes, and Burt and its a beautiful wedding episode. That’s all there is to it.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

This was such a beautiful moment. An amazingly haunting version of a song, which to be honest I’ve never really, really loved. But Finn singing this to Santana got me immediately teary! I didn’t necessarily think that Finn would have been the person to get through to Santana - but the performance on its own, I think was a big moment for Cory himself.

Susan Booth: The Fun-Free Spirit

The one thing that I loved the most about Cory was his sense of humor. Whenever he made a joke during interviews or in his role as Finn Hudson on Glee, his sense of humor always had me laughing so hard that sometimes it would actually make me cry. I will always love the Grilled Cheezus episode of Glee, and how he was so convinced that Jesus was on the grilled cheese sandwich.

I also loved it when Cory laughed, he had a laugh that was one of those laughs that made you want to laugh just because some else was laughing. When he played Finn in Glee, he had this knack for showing how silly Finn could be and how much, and even how little Finn knew about things. In the sex ed episode, where Holly Holiday talked to Finn about thinking he got Quinn pregnant via hot tub, I nearly died laughing when he said how dubious he was.

I’m really going to miss all of those awesome and very funny one-liners of his.
