Today (May 13), Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida announced its newest attraction to appear in Diagon Alley-Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts! The ride is unofficially scheduled to be open to the public the last week of June; however, staff and some very lucky guests will be part of the soft opening which should be happening sometime in the next week.

As all of us HP fans remember, Gringotts is a highly secured bank in the wizarding world and the ride will be based on the portion of the book where Harry, Hermione, and Ron break into Gringotts to steal one of Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes from the vault that belongs to the Lestrange family. They are betrayed by Griphook, a former employee, and the trio are plunged into a magical adventure while they attempt to escape.

Visitors will get to tour the magnificent Gringotts before experiencing the 4-minute ride.

Although a lot of the details are surreptitious at this point, the ride has been said to tantalize your senses and revamp your view on any traditional attraction you may have experienced.

Boarders will see many familiar faces, such as Bellatrix Lestrange and Lord Voldemort; key characters that made the story come to life in the book series.

However, there will be many aspects of the book that will be unfamiliar to the readers and viewers, such as new scenes and the introduction of 10 new goblins that have come from the imagination of the production designers. This is great for individuals that venture on this ride and are unfamiliar with the Harry Potter franchise and the back story.

But one thing will surely be constant–this attraction will be out of this world!
