If you’re longing for some real music that you can feel in your heart, lyrics that speak to your soul and a live performance with the power to blow the roof off the place, look no further. Laura Cheadle is a breath of fresh air for everyone who’s tired of the staged choreography, blinding light shows, over-the-top costumes, lip-synching and auto-tune that have become part and parcel of most concerts today.
R&B/soul singer-songwriter Laura Cheadle is set to release “Everybody Say” tomorrow, March 5 & we have the exclusive premiere! This upbeat anthem marks the independent award-winning songstress’ first release since her 2018 album “Chill.”
While the events of the past year have brought hardship to many (especially those in the music industry), for Cheadle, they’ve brought inspiration.
“I was tired of seeing so much negativity and wanted to lead off with a single to heal people and bring joy to their lives. I want people to hear and see this song and feel amazing!” she said of her latest single.
The rising pop-soul star certainly accomplished what she set out to. Between the memorable, whoa-centric hook and the pervasive funky rhythm guitar, you won’t be able to help but smile and sing along when you hear this tune. Featuring rhythm guitar and background vocals from her brother Jimmy Lee and her mother Sue, respectively, “Everybody Say” is truly a family affair.
Laura is no stranger to collaborating with her folks. Cheadle grew up on tour with her father, James, an accomplished touring pianist. The owner and operator of Swedesboro Music Studio in Swedesboro, NJ, James Cheadle has since come to serve as a co-writer, producer and keyboardist on Laura’s records.
“‘Everybody Say’ came to me in a dream and it was a reflection of being home during COVID. I took this dream to the recording studio, and my dad came up with the music in minutes,” Cheadle elaborated.
Pre-pandemic, the Cheadles often performed together as the Laura Cheadle Family Band. The WXPN Tri-State Indie Music Award winners once competed on the COZI TV reality show “Next Great Family Band.”
With this release, Cheadle has introduced some sorely-needed positivity into the world. The only thing this feel-good smash needs is an audience to answer Cheadle’s calls for everybody to sing along! Be on the lookout for the premiere of the accompanying music video next week.
“Everybody Say” is available everywhere March 5th. You can follow Laura on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
