Staff Writer

It’s been a year since Ridley’s Scott’s Prometheus raked in over $400 million worldwide. The film that starred Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender was written as a prequel to the 1979 blockbuster, Alien. Although wasn’t embraced by hard-core fans of the originals, the film did pretty well for itself; scoring an Oscar nomination for visual effects.

With sequels popping up all over the place, it’s no surprise Prometheus is in the beginning stages to add another installment. Transcendence writer, Jack Paglen is rumored to be taking on the next film alongside Scott.

According to The Wrap, “Should Fox move forward with “Prometheus 2,” Rapace and Fassbender would likely return to reprise their roles, though it remains unclear what creative direction a sequel would take.”
