Psych: The Movie Sneak Preview Shown At SDCC

Fans got a sneak peek of Psych: The Movie at San Diego Comic-Con today. What are you hoping to see from your favorite fake psychic detective?

It’s Christmas in July for Psych fans at SDCC!

Lucky Psych fans at San Diego Comic-Con were treated to new details about the upcoming film, launching this Christmas. The panel marked the first time the cast reunited on the stage since 2013. And boy did they come with a few surprises for everyone.

Panel attendees were allowed to watch the first eight minutes of the film — one minute for each season of the original USA show. So, what can we tell you about the Psych: The Movie? Well … expect boats, beards, and sourdough breads. The guys are set up in San Francisco these days (uh, spoilers?), but what’s really changed for them?

James Roday says, “You may be surprised to learn that Shawn has taken a few steps forward [since the series finale]. Not emotionally — physically. He’s taken a few steps in the last few years, and he’s feeling pretty good about it.”

The guys seem to a be a bit rusty, though, and it looks like Dulé Hill’s Burton “Gus” Guster isn’t as keen on the Psych business as he used to be … at least, at first. He is, however inevitably charmed back into it by Roday’s Shawn Spencer.

Creator Steve Franks says that he doesn’t want “to make one Psych movie. I want to make six Psych movies.” Until then, enjoy the special SDCC trailer released the in the panel today, and stay tuned for more details from the cast of Psych.
