As reported by Digital Spy, Rambo: the Video Game will no longer be released this month, but has been delayed to launch next year. The Reef Entertainment rep did not provide further comments or any reasons as to why the game release has been delayed.

Rambo: the Video Game will be a first person shooter and action game, where players will be playing the role of John Rambo and rediscovering the exciting scenes from the Rambo trilogy: First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, and Rambo III. Rambo: the Video Game will also feature the iconic fight scenes from the original films, and let players take on the bosses from the films.

Reef Entertainment publisher Will Curley admits that many fans preferred a third person play rather than a first person perspective. A couple people left comments on Video Gaming 24/7 that they’d like the idea of exploring the map from a third person view (similarly to popular games such as Skyrim, The Last of Us, and GTA V). With this being said, it’s a question whether the first person game play will make Rambo: the Video Game as dynamic and interesting as fans and gamers would want it to be.

Rambo: the Video Game is expected to be released for PC, PS3, and Xbox in 2014. Visit Rambo the Video Game website for updates, game screenshots, teaser trailers, and more.
