St. Patrick’s Day weekend turned out to be an unlucky one for 80’s rapper, Tone Loc. Loc is most widely known for his hit singles, Funky Cold Medina and Wild Thing, from his 2 time platinum album, Loc’ed After Dark.

While performing a show on Saturday, March 16th in Iowa, he suddenly collapsed on the stage. Employees of the Des Moines Register that were attending the show said that the crowd was asked to leave only several minutes after Loc was taken offstage to be treated. Also, according to local authorities who spoke to the newspaper, Loc also refused to be taken to a hospital.  It is unclear what caused the collapse, and Loc’s representatives have not made a statement regarding the incident.

This is not the first time that Loc has collapsed. In 2009, he collapsed, apparently from heat exhaustion, onstage at a concert in Florida and was rushed to the hospital.   In 2011 at a concert in Atlanta, he again collapsed from exhaustion, and was rushed to the hospital. In June 2012 at an event in Austin, he collapsed, but after a brief respite, he came back to the stage to finish the show. In August 2012 at a charity event, the rapper collapsed, this time from “bad food”.  Whatever the causes, it might be time for Tone Loc to see a doctor…and I’m not talking about Dr. Dre either.
