Ray Liotta will be playing a retired CIA agent in the film Kill The Messenger as part of a cast headed by Jeremy Renner, Deadline reports.
Based on a true story, the film tells the story of investigative journalist Gary Webb, who released information about the CIA’s involvement with a spread of cocaine in LA.
The director of Kill The Messenger is Michael Cuesta, and it is based on a screenplay written by Peter Landesman. Filming has already begun in Atlanta, Georgia.
Supporting actors and actresses include: Rosemarie DeWitt, Paz Vega, Michael K Williams, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Michael Sheen, Andy Garcia, Tim Blake Nelson, Robert Patrick, Barry Pepper and Oliver Platt.
Kill The Messenger is set to be released in 2014.
