Rebecca Perl Presents The Video For New Single “Blame You”

“I hope that my music can make you feel heard.”

With more than a million streams to her name, and having opened for acts including Olivia Newton John and Gavin DeGraw, Rebecca Perl, who hails from a rather musical family and began playing guitar at the age of 12, has already established herself as an artist with genuine talent and an ability to win over music fans with both her strong stage presence and lyrics that that are memorable, personal and also important.

Influenced by the likes of Julia Michaels and Maggie Rogers, Perl says she is “..very into female pop artists that tell stories and make you feel something”, adding: “We all go through the same things and it’s nice to know that you’re not alone.” Her music is often – if not always – written from her own perspective, addressing moments or events in her life that she likes to think may help others feel heard and bring clarity to their own, different situations; music, is after all, one of the few things that genuinely connects people, no matter where they might be in the world.

Her new single “Blame You”, the video for which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, is one such track and blends beautiful, delicate instrumentation and warm emotional vocals to create a track likely to find itself tugging at your heartstrings. Asked about the story to/inspiration behind the track, Perl explains: “The song was highly inspired by personal experience. When you go through heartbreak, it’s easier to blame the other person than yourself. Nobody wants to take blame for a failed relationship. Sometimes it’s nobody’s fault, and that alone can keep you up at night. At the time, blaming him was the only way I found peace with the situation and it helped me move on. THIS IS GREAT.”

She goes on to add: “The most powerful thing about music is that it can bring clarity to a situation you’re going through. It also brings people together by sharing perspective. I hope that my music can make you feel heard. We all go through the same things and it’s nice to know that you’re not alone.”
