It’s that time of the year again. Networks are looking and facts, figures and demographics and plotting out our TV viewing for the autumn. While we despair over those shows we love that we’ve had to say goodbye to, there are others that have been green-lighted that we can look forward to.
Amongst these is Rebel Wilson’s Super Fun Night, which has been picked up by ABC. The Aussie comedian appears to have the golden touch with star turns in Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect and Struck by Lightning. She will hope that her luck continues as she heads up this new comedy.
The show focuses on three nerdy friends – junior attorney Kimmie Boubier (Wilson), Helen-Alic (Liza Lapira) and Marika (Lauren Ash) – who, for the past 13 years, have had a standing Friday night date. However, with Kimmie’s recent promotion, their “Friday Night Fun Night” appears in jeopardy. The show also stars Kelen Coleman as Kimmie’s idol and “Lady Lawyer of the Year” Felicity Vanderstone and Kevin Bishop as devastatingly handsome British attorney, Richard Lovell.
Conan O’Brien serves with Wilson as executive producer.
