Red Bull SoundClash Kicks off This Week Featuring Rico Nasty, Jake Wesley Rogers and more

“This is not a concert. This is a Clash.”

Red Bull SoundClash returns to the U.S. for the first time in 10 years, with 4 shows in Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, and Nashville. The music series kicks off tomorrow in Atlanta with a Love Renaissance celebration of SHELLEY FKA DRAM and West Side Boogie.

Red Bull SoundClash features two artists competing across two opposite stages, with the audience deciding the winner. The event series will bring audiences and artists together for the chance to participate in a unique format that is explained as, “This is not a concert. This is a Clash.”

Initially inspired by the competing sound systems of Kingston Jamaica in the 1950’s, SoundClash started in The Netherlands in 2006. Since then, the format has performed across the world in over 33 different countries with nearly 100 clashes held. Artists like Erykah Badu, Snoop Dog and Ludacris have been past clashers, but this year eight different artists are taking the stage across America.

The artists’ genres range from Hip-Hop to Soul to R&B and pop, giving everyone a chance to find an artist to love. Each show will feature four rounds of artists going head-to-head in different musical styles performing songs and in genres they’ve never done before. Bands and artists musically duke it out with the recipient of the biggest crowd reaction – captured on a decibel meter – to be crowned.

Here’s a look at who you can see as part of this years’ line-up and where.
