Returning Characters In ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’? (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

With Dead Men Tell No Tales just around the corner, we have received various hints that a few key playing characters are returning to the high seas!

WARNING: part of this news might be considered spoilers for the upcoming film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017).

With the next Pirates of the Caribbean film just on the horizon, each trailer we have seen has gotten us more and more amped and ready for this next (and maybe final?) installment. Not too long ago another new trailer dropped; however, unless you were online and happened to search it out, most people have not seen it, as it is the international, or that is, “overseas” trailer.

The Superbowl Spot for Dead Men Tell No Tales in early February of this year was shown only once during the game’s airtime; however, it was definitely a hit and stole the commerical scene. It showed a quick first glimpse of Orlando Bloom as Will Turner on his newly acquired Flying Dutchman. We had already heard confirmed reports that Orlando Bloom was returning, but it was still nice to see him briefly in the preview. Fans of the original film’s cast will certainly be happily surprised by this international trailer, because while there are several new swashbuckling and comical scenes to enchant us with, there is a particular scene that will stick out in viewer’s minds, and that is the brief appearance of Keira Knightley returning as Elizabeth Swann, or should we say, Elizabeth Turner.

This is exciting for fans of the franchise, because while we knew that Elizabeth Swann’s character had a chance of being mentioned in the film, it was pretty clear that Knightley was not on “board” to return. With Bloom returning and Knightley originally not, it did leave us wondering how the characters were going to deal with her absence in the film without awkwardly not mentioning her. So that’s a nice question to have answered. What we still do not know, obviously, is if this is a flashback, or something taking place during the present time of the story. Either way, Ms. Knightley is going to be in it!

I don’t know about you, but this gets me even more excited for this next installment. To have the original cast back together again, even if Bloom and Knightley don’t receive much screen time, is a great treat. It might have been nice to be surprised by her return when actually seeing the movie, but knowing ahead of time still has some excitement in itself.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) searching for the Trident of Poseidon, and will also star (amidst the two already listed above) Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush, Brenton Thwaites, and Kaya Scodelario. It hits theaters this month on May 26, 2017. Check out the new international trailer below!
