This is what I like to call the franchise that didn’t die. Fast & Furious 6 is due to be released on May 24th, and now it appears that there will in fact be a 7th film set to come out next year. I’m not knocking this series of films in any way, but it has as many films as the Harry Potter series and for the life of me I can’t think of ANY other franchise with THAT many movies in it.
Vin Diesel was the one to make the announcement at CinemaCon in Las Vegas a few days ago that Universal Pictures would be releasing a 7th installment to the series. The series itself has tracked really well with all social media outlets and with Latinos. It’s not longer about the theft aspect of the movies, now it’s all about the pretty shinny cars.
There’s no official release date for the 7th Fast & Furious film yet, just that we can expect it in 2014. There is also no word on whether or not this will be the last film in the franchise.
