Not too shabby for a group of rockers pushing 70. Tickets went on sale this morning (April 5) for The Rolling Stones gig in Hyde Park. The event is part of their “50 and Counting” tour and is the headline act for the July 6 British Summer Time concert – a series of 10-day events consisting of four themed zones each with its own specially designed installations and entertainment. The date is also notable for being almost exactly 44 years since The Rolling Stones first played Hyde Park.
There was some outrage by fans at the cost of tickets (priced between £95 and £299), but that didn’t deter die-hard fans of the rock band. Tickets went on sale on their official website at 9am and the gig was completely sold out by 9.03am. Digital Spy is reporting that already tickets are being resold on other sites for £1,097 each and those with ‘Diamond Circle’ access cost £2,500 upwards.
Support acts for the Stones include the Vaccines, the Temper Trap, Palma Violets and Gary Clark Jr. More information about the Festival, each day’s line-up and ticketing can be found here.
