Might there be a third President Johnson in America’s future?

A political action committee (PAC) called “Run the Rock 2020” has been registered with the Federal Election Commission, according to The Hill. The PAC, registered by a West Virginia man named Kenton Tilford, has no known ties to action star and former wrestler Dwayne (“The Rock”) Johnson but appears aimed to encourage him to consider a presidential run.

Currently starring on HBO’s Ballers and most recently seen on the big screen in Baywatch and The Fate of the Furious, Johnson has a slew of projects in the works, including Disney’s live-action Jungle Cruise movie and the holiday release Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. With his Hollywood career so in demand, could Washington, D.C., really lure him away?

The Rock on Politics: “More Poise, Less Noise”

Johnson is an Independent, and as his career has grown over the years, he hasn’t strayed much into the political arena. Still, his cross-genre popularity and success in Hollywood likely has fans and observers intrigued at the possibility of him entering politics. In May, a poll conducted by Public Policy Polling found that Johnson would win over the current administration in a “prospective contest.”

Also that month, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Johnson admitted the subject is something he’s been thinking about: “I’ve got to tell you—and I’ll tell you guys too—I’m so incredibly flattered… I also think that over the years, I’ve become a guy that a lot of people can relate to: Get up early in the morning at a ridiculous hour, go to work and spend time with the troops, take care of my family. I love taking care of people. And I think that kind of thing really resonates with people, especially today.”

Later in May, Johnson hosted the season finale of Saturday Night Live, his fifth appearance as host. He made comedy gold on stage when he “announced” his run for president, complete with the perfect running mate already in tow: Tom Hanks. In his mock announcement speech, Johnson delivered laughs while making some compelling points.

With Hanks by his side, The Rock 2020 has blockbuster written all over it.
