Fox hasn’t renewed our beloved show yet guys. Actually there are some rumblings that Glee could be off the air for good!
E!News has heard from a source that series producers and creators: Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan may be leaving the show. According to sources, this could lead to its cancellation.
DON’T FREAK OUT! Nothing has been confirmed one way or another. Glee still remains a “definite” renewal on everything TV renewal scorecard/board we could find.
However, I honestly don’t think that a cancellation would happen. If Ryan Murphy and company do leave Glee then they get a new showrunner. It could be hit (Doctor Who, season 8 of Supernatural) or miss (Smash, seasons 6 and 7 of Supernatural). It should also be pointed out that no one from either FOX or the Glee camp has said anything about these rumors. There has been a surge of renewed interest from the critics as well with the introduction of new characters and the New York storyline.
Honestly, FOX wouldn’t cancel a cash cow like Glee over the showrunners leaving.
Plus Lea Michele has tweeted about the last script which has “a lot of cliffhangers”. I don’t think anyone would write something like that if being cancelled was even the SLIGHTEST possibility.
Still we just won’t know the truth until Glee is renewed or not. It still remains a waiting game.
