After taking some time off to write and record a follow up to 2017’s “Madness” Alt rock band “Sad Heroes” just released their first single “Sunny Side Down” off of their upcoming EP “I Feel Like Doing Something Dangerous”.
This hot new trio is making their way into the hearts of music lovers and it’s time they start getting the recognition they truly deserve. With an EP on the way, Sad Heroes is bound and determined to capture your eye (and ear), and real you in — as they have, us.
We all tend to connect better with music when we can relate, & this one, many can relate. Wether you struggle with insomnia, feeling overwhelmed, or even suffering from anxiety, this track is for you.
“When we write lyrics, we usually choose the subject before we write the song. When it came to Sunny Side Down, our jumping off point was insomnia, which is something Zach has been dealing with for a long time,” Avi noted.
“I pretty seriously struggle with falling asleep and can sometimes be awake for days at a time. When you go that long without sleep you start losing your mind. It isn’t just that you’re tired, your body starts having physiological responses that can really make you feel like you’re going crazy,” Zach added.
While many suffer from insomnia, anxiety, etc — We may not fully be able to express how we feel and sometimes (I know, for me), it’s just really not something that is easy to explain or put into words. Nowadays, everyone has a lot to say about every little thing, especially on social media.
With that being said, it isn’t always easy to open up about any of your personal struggles without fear of being judged. “While the song was written around insomnia, I think everyone has moments where they feel overwhelmed and like they’re losing it. And that’s what Sunny Side Down is about,” Shmu explained, further.
Sad Heroes are set to release their Sophomore EP “I Feel Like Doing Something Dangerous” in late 2020, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on that one as well. For now, Sad Heroes tells PopWrapped it is “Influenced by artists such as Highly Suspect, Nothing But Thieves and Linkin Park”, which we are super stoked for. You can follow along Sad Heroes journey on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, as well as their Official Website.
