Actor Sam Claflin has tied the knot with his fiancée, actress Laura Haddock in a private ceremony, a source told Us Magazine.

Images from the ceremony surfaced online on Tuesday, 30th July, after a pal posted a picture of the newlyweds slicing into a towering wedding cake. The couple, which are both 27, have been engaged for more than a year and a half.

The pair first met at an audition and Claflin knew that she was the one for him. ‘I called my agent, I said, “Mate, I am in love,” the actor said, ‘He’s like “How did the audition go, mate?” I was like “No no, you don’t understand. I have just met the woman I want to marry.’

The pair then met again on the London subway later that evening and they continued to stay in touch. ‘We started Skyping and I flew her out to L.A. and then here we are,’ he added at the time. Laura told Empire magazine earlier this year that she finds’s Claflin’s pin-up status ‘funny’.

‘Well, he is very sexy,’ she said in May. ‘But he’s really not very serious. You know, he looks gorgeous in that film. But if you said that to him, he’d say, “What? Me? I’m from Norwich!”’

Claflin will play Finnick Odair in the sequel to The Hunger Games film, Catching Fire.
