As the almost never-ending battle to win over consumers continues, Samsung, in a bid to ensure they stay ahead of rivals Apple, look set to release their latest handset, the Galaxy Note 5, earlier than originally planned.
The move is likely to take place next month, prior to when Apple often choose to release their latest models of their iPhone in September.
It was revealed back in April that during the first quarter of this year, Samsung overtook Apple in smartphone sales, selling 20 million more handsets, restoring the company to the best-selling spot after losing that position at the end of last year.
It is thought that the new phone will, in terms of appearance, not differ much from that of the Galaxy Note 4, however some sources have suggested it may not have an SD card slot or replaceable battery, which many modern hand-sets do.
