Following their succesful debut single “Unbound”, San Franciscan duo Cathedrals look set for great things, especially with the release of their second single, “Harlem”.

The duo, made up of Brodie & Johnny, are already making waves in the music industry. Their debut “Unbound” reached #1 on Hype Machine’s no-remix list, and also has over 300k plays on Soundcloud, not to mention having over 300k YouTube views.  The duo describe themselves as “overwhelmed with all the love “Unbound” has received.”

Having premiered on Disco Naïveté yesterday, Cathedrals’ second offering of “Harlem” looks set to follow the success of its predecessor. The track is already #6 on Hype Machine’s most popular page.

“Harlem” itself is one of those songs you play once, then put on repeat for the rest of the day, and strangely enough, it doesn’t seem to get old. Neon Gold called the song “a breathless, quixotic dream.”

Having had the rights to premiere Cathedrals’ latest offering, Disco Naïveté described it as “more refined in pop terms (lighter, backing ooh’s, gentle guitar rhythm) and right as you get used to that soothing sound, the duo go all out on you with a wall of guitars and drums – if anything the sudden splash of instruments just adds that bit of edge to their sound.”

I’ve had “Harlem” on repeat for quite a while now, and it’s definitely going to be added to my playlist. With a free download currently available from Nylon Magazine, there’s no excuse not to enjoy a beautiful taste of Cathedrals music.
