A new trailer was released yesterday for the 3D techno-thriller film, Gravity.

The film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as two astronauts that find themselves in a dangerous predicament where they have to fight to stay alive.

Bullock plays a medical engineer named Dr. Ryan Stone, who is set to be going on her first Space Shuttle mission. She is accompanied by a veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky, Clooney, who is going on his final expedition.

During a routine spacewalk things go bad. The shuttle is destroyed and this leaves Stone and Kowalsky tethered to each other alone in space. With no communication with Earth and oxygen running out quickly they have to find a way home and most importantly to survive.

Sandra Bullock recently spoke to Digital Spy about her role in the movie and why she chose to act and look the way that she did in the movie.

“The physical aspects were two-fold – one was the core physicality which I needed in order to execute the wire work that was being done, and thank God I did that, The other side was what I wanted her to look like, or not look like, as a human being. She had experienced great tragedy, and a loss no-one should ever feel, which was the loss of a child. I wanted her to look as though she’s trying to do everything she can to remove anything that would remind her of what she once was, which was a mom. I wanted the body to look almost androgynous.”

Bullock and Clooney premiered the movie at the 70th annual Venice International Film Festival back on August 29th. The movie has gotten positive reviews from early screeners.

If you’d like to see Gravity for yourself, then you’ll be able to check it out when it hits theatres in the U.S. on October 4th, and November 8th in the U.K.
