Between “The Voice,” “American Idol,” and “The X-Factor,” it seems that reality singing competition shows these days are doomed to become revolving doors for the judging panels. Another competition can now be added to the list – “The Sing-Off.” Judge Sara Bareilles announced that she will be leaving the show in order to pursue and focus on her music. Bareilles is preparing to leave on her “Brave Enough” solo tour at the end of April. The singer had replaced Nicole Scherzinger during the third season so that Sherzinger could partake in “The X-Factor” panel.
“The Sing-Off” – which many feared was headed for cancellation after it wasn’t renewed in 2012 –will be debuting its fourth season soon with host Nick Lachey, as well as judges Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman set to return. The series does not have an official premiere date, but is slated to grace NBC’s line-up once more sometime during the holidays.
