Add chef extraordinaire to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s growing list of talents!
We’ve seen the talented actress play several incredible roles, continuously involve herself in philanthropy, and now she’s taking her creativity to the kitchen. Gellar announced her new company known as Foodstirs, which will begin to sell foodcrafting kits and other baking mixes. Gellar shared the initial launch with People, explaining the first wave in the food line will focus on brownies, cookies, and cupcakes, expected to be available this October (is anyone else having major Simply Irresistible nostalgia?!) The mother, chef, and actress explained that when she went looking for in-store healthy desserts she only discovered that mixes now include various ingredients, so the Foodstirs team decided to make products that are free of artificial preservatives as well as non-gmo ingredients. The Foodstirs official website offers you a chance to sign-up for a newsletter to keep you updated, and includes the mission of the company:
“At Foodstirs, we believe the heart and stomach of every family can be found in the kitchen. Our mission is to offer real and tasty baking products that provide a convenient and better way for you to unplug, connect, and create memorable experiences together. Our premium baking mixes and foodcrafting kits inspire creativity and curiosity, while emphasizing the importance of a healthier lifestyle.”
Gellar recently signed a book deal with Grand Central Life & Style, which means that we can expect even more Foodstirs fun and lifestyle tips from the lovely SMG, aiming for a 2017 release! Those of you who have been following Gellar on Instagram (like me.) have already seen just how crafty her cooking can be, so you can guarantee you’ll enjoy whatever scrumptious recipes she has prepared! What makes the Foodstirs endeavor even more special is that a portion of the proceeds from each purchase will be given to charity. Who doesn’t want to eat healthy, especially when it’s none other than the wonderful Sarah Michelle Gellar involved!
