It looks like a member of Olivia Pope and Associate is going to wish he had such a gladiator representing him in real life. Columbus Short’s wife has reportedly filed for divorce after her husband threatened her in anger.

Tuere Tanee McCall, Columbus Short’s now estranged wife, claims that he threatened a murder/suicide on April 7th, causing her to obtain a restraining order against Short. On the night of the incident, Short allegedly poured wine over his then wife, and then proceeded to act like he was going to break the empty wine bottle over McCall’s head. Short was intoxicated through the entire incident.

Unfortunately the bad news does not stop there. McCall went to the kitchen to get a knife to defend herself, when Short pinned her on the couch and proceeded to choke her. Short then proceeded to threaten to stab her if she wouldn’t admit to affairs he believed she was having.

At that point, he told her that he would commit a murder/suicide, because she would not fess up to cheating on him.  According to reports from TMZ, Short even put the knife up to her neck during the altercation. When Tuere tried to flee, the Scandal star slashed his estranged wife’s tires in order to stop her from getting away.

The restraining order states Short must move out of their shared home while under the direct supervision of police officers. McCall had filed divorce papers in September of last year, but changed her mind at the beginning of this year, and dismissed the petition. McCall also filed for sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Ayala. Both Alaya and her 10-year-old half-sibling were watching the incident.

Short also caused a scene at a family member’s recent engagement party. He was involved in a scuffle, but no charges were pressed, and everything seemed to be settled without the influence of authorities because of family ties.

What do you think of the whole situation? It seems like the on-screen lawyer is going to need to channel some of his inner gladiator to get out of this situation.
