The Presidential Suite
It’s a big week for the Rosebud Motel as Johnny, Roland, and Stevie drop the ribbon in celebration of the newest Rosebud Motel property that Johnny and Stevie bought earlier in the season. Now all that’s left to do is a deep clean of the rooms. The new Rosebud Motel has a room that is significantly larger than the others that Johnny decides to call the Presidential Suite and charge a premium for it. Dreaming of a staycation, Roland and Jocelyn want to test the suite for the weekend, but Johnny says no. He says it’s not good business sense. Moira also wants to get out of the dingy room they’ve been living in for the past few years and convinces Johnny to use the Presidential Suite for the weekend. When both couples arrive at the Presidential Suite with their weekend bags, Johnny lets Roland and Jocelyn use the room without putting up much of a fight after learning that strangers are staying with Roland and Jocelyn to help pay for the new motel. Turns out, Roland is a pretty good business partner.
Wedding Photos
Meanwhile, David and Patrick try to get nice wedding photos taken. Ray, Schitt’s Creek’s jack of all trades and in this case, photographer, shows them samples of underwater, outer space, and volcano backdrops, which definitely isn’t David’s aesthetic. In an effort to make the pictures look good, David sends Patrick to get pampered. And by pampered, David means spray-tanned. Unfortunately, the well-intended gesture doesn’t have quite the results David had in mind. Patrick returns to Ray’s office upset and looking like a cheese puff. Ray takes the pictures anyways but finding one where Patrick looks decent is difficult. After nine showers wash away some of Patrick’s tan, Stevie, fulfilling her maid of honour duties, tries to take some candid pictures on her phone that don’t turn out completely awful. Almost satisfactory for David’s standards.
A Heartfelt Goodbye
Ted returns to Schitt’s Creek (for what was apparently his last episode) for what was supposed to be a surprise long weekend visit with Alexis. But after flight delays and bad milk, now they only have one day together. After some initial catching up, Ted reveals he was offered a three-year contract to stay in the Galapagos. After fighting so hard with their long-distance relationship and both of their careers going so well from different geographical locations, neither Ted nor Alexis knows what to do. Alexis goes running to clear her head and goes to the cafe for a post-run chat with Twyla. Twyla tells Alexis that she always makes the right decision…eventually. Alexis arranges a date night at the cafe with lasagna, mozzarella sticks, and blueberry cheesecake, all of Ted’s cheat day favourites. Alexis tells Ted he can’t move back to Schitt’s Creek and Ted tells Alexis she can’t move to the Galapagos. They share a sweet moment and tell each other that they’re proud of each other and that they love each other. It was heartbreaking even though it was probably for the best.
