Schitt’s Creek: 06×10, Sunrise, Sunset

Coming off the success of the Crows movie, Moira is approached by old colleagues, Tippy and Clifton, from ‘Sunrise Bay’.

Coming off the success of the Crows movie, Moira is approached by old colleagues, Tippy and Clifton, from ‘Sunrise Bay’. Alexis, who is still heartbroken and in bed devouring box sets of ‘Sunrise Bay’, says she’ll go to the meeting with Moira but Moira tells her to stay in and continue her self-care regimen where no one can see her. At the cafe, Tippy and Clifton tell Moira they want her to reprise her role in a reboot of the series. That should be exciting for Moira, right? Clifton and Tippy are already on board, they just need her to look over and sign the contract.

Moira wants to do the reboot but the writers just have to figure out how to bring her character, Vivian, back from the dead. However, as Moira’s publicist (and daughter), Alexis discourages Moira from signing onto the project until she “asks for what she deserves” because she finds out that there are rumours that Clifton had her written off the show in the first place. Later, Moira meets Tippy and Clifton at the Wobbly Elm bar. Moira negotiates a better deal with them. Her terms include killing Clifton off in a manner of Moira’s choosing, more money, and a diamond tennis bracelet, because why not? Unfortunately, Tippy and Clifton had to refuse the offer. But Moira’s not too broken up about not doing the reboot. She seems happy and she seems to really like having Alexis as a publicist. Alexis is a pretty great publicist after all.

Meanwhile, at the new Rosebud Motel property, there’s some bad news. There are termites in room six and the foundation needs to be replaced. This is going to be expensive. Stevie, Johnny, and Roland try to come up with the money but they can’t seem to find it. Meanwhile, Johnny has also promised David to pay for the food for the wedding. And we all know that David has very expensive taste, seeing as he wants lobster rolls and beef tenderloin and caviar. David notices how uncomfortable Johnny was at the food tasting and tells him that there’s more money than they thought from a nest egg that Patrick’s family set aside. Johnny brushes him off and says everything’s fine, hiding the extent of the money problem from him.

Stevie sees just how deeply this is affecting Johnny and comes up with a plan to save the motel. Her plan is to buy thirty more motels right now and start franchising. It looks like Stevie actually did read Johnny’s book. Johnny agrees that this could work since he did it before with Rose Video, as Stevie reminds him. Stevie is turning into quite the businesswoman. It looks like things are going to be okay for the Rosebud Motel, and David’s wedding.
