Since we were younger we have all heard the stories of The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel, but we have a feeling they have never been told like this. CBS’s ‘Tell Me A Story’ is doing just that, telling us a story, but in an entirely new way. How you may ask, well it is simple They are taking the fantasy out of these stories and dropping them into the heart of New York City.
Executive Producer Kevin Williamson is very excited to be able to put these characters into a modern word and to let us see them in a new light. Although he was very cryptic, as many people at SDCC are, he did let us know that it would be very apparent as to which fairy tale character each person in the series is, as well as, why they fit into each story line. He also told us that New York City itself is a metaphor for “the woods.”
During the panel, Paul Wesley joked that he is just happy to be playing a human that is relatively the same age as himself. He also shared that he is going to be one of the little pigs, named Eddie, in the Three Little Pig story arch. In the footage we saw, the Three Little Pigs actually rob a bank, which doesn’t sound very three little pig like and we are excited to see how this story arch plays out. Wesley then shared how difficult it was to rob a bank with a pig mask on and gave us advice that if we wanted to rob a bank to make sure we can all see out of our masks. Thanks, Paul! We are going to take you up on that advice!
James Wolk was also in attendance at the panel and will be playing a character names Jordan Evans. Evans is actually the Big Bad Wolf. Paul and James could not give us much on how their story lines intertwine and how we could tell the pig from the wolf, but they did share that a “big event” will occur and it will be become more clear to us. (More SDCC cryptic messages)
We did have the chance to actually sit down with Paul and James to get them to tell us a story! Watch below to see what happens!
Tell Me A Story is set to come out of CBS All Access Fall 2018! Keep your eyes open! We know we can’t wait to go into the woods!
