At the end of season 7 following his sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) having murdered Maria LaGuerta (Lauren Velez) we left Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) questioning “Who is Deb [Dexter’s sister, played by Jennifer Carpenter] now? Who am I? Is this a new beginning, or the beginning of the end?” and in a recently released teaser trailer for season 8 we learn that he’s “losing control”.
“Dexter”, the hit Showtime drama series, centres on Dexter, a blood spatter pattern analyst for the (fictional) Miami Metro Police Department. Oh and he also leads a secret life as a serial killer, though he does kill with purpose – his victims are killers themselves who have killed someone without justifiable cause and they are likely to do so again.
The most recent teaser provides fans with no footage. Instead with Dexter providing voice-over, the camera pans out from a blood spatter to reveal Dexter’s face drawn in blood. Describing himself as a “neat monster” and fearing that “too many people have seen the full picture” he promises that “it isn’t going to be pretty”.
