Just a day before its Toonami premiere, Sentai Filmworks has announced the cast of the English-dub (directed by Kyle Jones) for Parasyte -the maxim-. Brittney Karbowski (Soul Eater) and Adam Gibbs (Tsuritama) will be portraying the main protagonists of the series: Migi and Shinichi Izumi. Sentai released a trailer for the series that previews the English dub, and Karbowski and Gibbs sound absolutely phenomenal! The rest of the cast has yet to be heard, but I have no doubt they’ll fill their roles in well.

The English cast for Parasyte -the maxim- is:

• Andrew Love (Log Horizon) as Uragami

• Rob Mungle (Nobunaga The Fool) as Kazuyuki Izumi

• John Gremillion (Dog & Scissors) as Husband

• Marcy Bannor (Shining Hearts) as Wife

• John Swasey (Black Bullet) as Teacher

• Brittany Djie (Magical Warfare) as Misaki

• Krystal LaPorte (Beyond the Boundary) as Misaki’s Mom

• Ty Mahany (Diabolik Lovers) as Parasite Dog

• Christopher Patton (Black Cat) as Newscaster

• Mike Vance (RahXephon) as Businessman

Parasyte -the maxim- will premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami block October 4 at 1 a.m. EDT (Sunday morning).

Kodansha USA, who has licensed and released the Parasyte manga series, describes the plot as:

They arrive in silence and darkness. They descend from the skies. They have a hunger for human flesh. They are everywhere. They are parasites, alien creatures who must invade—and take control of—a human host to survive. And once they have infected their victims, they can assume any deadly form they choose: monsters with giant teeth, winged demons, creatures with blades for hands. But most have chosen to conceal their lethal purpose behind ordinary human faces. So no one knows their secret—except an ordinary high school student. Shin is battling for control of his own body against an alien parasite, but can he find a way to warn humanity of the horrors to come?
