We’ve had Ghost (briefly) on Broadway. We’ve had Xanadu (briefly) on Broadway too.
Now one of the quintessential romance movies from the late 80’s to early 90’s is about to made into a musical. That’s right. Norah Ephron’s Sleepless in Seattle is going to take a spin and song onto the Broadway stage.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Sleepless has had a bit of a rough start. First the show had to replace the composer and lyricist team. Then, they had to switch out directors when former director Lonny Price had to leave the show due to other commitments. The new director on Sleepless is the Pasadena Playhouse’s Artistic Director Sheldon Epps.
Sleepless in Seattle is scheduled to make debut at the Pasadena Playhouse on May 24.
