Sloane Shares His Latest Single “Put Down Your Weapons”

“This song is me talking to my inner demon or darkness…”

Music has been Sloane – AKA Nick Rosen’s – life since he was young. While many artists don’t hit their artistic stride until much later in life, Sloane discovered jazz as a child and before he had even finished high school, he was making a name for himself as an individual responsible – partly at least – for resurrecting the career of jazz’s most iconic names; Henry Grimes, and earning himself plaudits and praise around Los Angeles by performing with the likes of Bennie Maupin and Nels Cline.

Sloane went on to further pursue his passion for music by moving into the world of film and TV, recording, alongside Oscar winning composer Michael Giacchino, on scores for hit series including LOST, working as a musical director for NBC’s Fourth of July and Christmas in Rockerfeller Center specials, and performing with a whole host of big names including Bruno Mars, Prince and Jamie Foxx to name just three. His more than impressive resume also includes work as a session musician and producer and engineer.

Now, with his career exponentially on the up, and while gearing up for the release of his EP on October 30th, Sloane is offering his growing fanbase another taste of what they can expect from the collection by dropping new single “Put Down Your Weapons”, which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere.

He says of the track: “This song is me talking to my inner demon or darkness. The first verse is me and the second verse my demon. I’m basically telling my demon to put down its weapons because we can both exist at once. Everyone has light and dark inside them at the same time and it’s about finding peace with the dark and then in turn being able to live more comfortably in the light.”
