Start planning your 2018 vacation because Disney Cruise Lines has just added 15 Star Wars Day At Sea dates for early next year.
"The Force is stronger than ever onboard the Disney Fantasy, and we are excited to bring back Star Wars Day at Sea in 2018," said Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line. "The popularity of the event over the past two years inspired us to continue immersing our guests in the Star Wars galaxy. Everyone, from the youngest Padawan to the most knowledgeable Jedi Master, is invited to enjoy this event of galactic proportions and make memories that will last a lifetime."
Star Wars Day at Sea set sail for the first time in 2016 and proved to be a real home run for both children and grown ups.
The one-day program will transport passengers to a galaxy far, far away, as iconic characters from the Star Wars saga including Jedi, Wookiees, droids and Stormtroopers roam the ship. The characters will be available for meet-and-greets and pictures.
Guests can also expect a plethora of Star Wars-themed activities, like arts and crafts, games and trivia; special food and beverages; and exclusive merchandise.
The Disney Fantasy is home to a movie theater, which will offer at-sea screenings of Star Wars films and television shows, including all the films in the Star Wars saga, Star Wars Rebels and the latest installment in the new standalone series, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Jedi-training will also be offered to young Padawans who will face-off against Darth Vader and the Seventh Sister.
Finally, the day will end with a Force-filled deck party with characters, stunts, special effects and an amazing fireworks display, all scored to John Williams’ iconic Star Wars themes.
The sailings of the Disney Fantasy will take place between January and April and will have two different seven-night itineraries: Western Caribbean and Eastern Caribbean.
The Western Caribbean itinerary includes stops in Cozumel, Mexico; Falmouth, Jamaica; Grand Cayman; and Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. This itinerary will depart on January 6, January 20, February 3, February 17, March 3, March 17, March 31 and April 14, 2018.
The Eastern Caribbean itinerary will depart on January 13, January 27, February 10, February 24, March 10, March 24 and April 7, 2018. It includes stops at Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Disney’s Castaway Cay.
