George Lucas married his long time girlfriend Mellody Hobson over the weekend, in a small ceremony attended by family and friends, including fellow director Ron Howard.
Howard tweeted, “George Lucas Melody Hobson wedding was joy to behold Bill Moyers service was beautiful, nothing short of profound. Congrats Mr&Mrs Lucas”
Also taking to twitter to offer his congratulations, Samuel L Jackson had this to say about the happy couple, “Let’s give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas & his Bride Melodie (sic) on This their WEDDING DAY!! Congrats!!!!!!”
Unconfirmed reports suggest that that ceremony took place at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago Illinois. This is Lucas’s second marriage, the director having previously been married to film editor Marcia Lou Griffin, before splitting in 1983. He has been with Mellody since 2006 and the pair announced their engagement in January this year.
