Star Wars: The Force Awakens Receives Throwback Poster

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is only months away, and Disney has officially revealed a new poster for the 7th film that original Star Wars fans will enjoy.

I’ve got some gloriously geeky good news for you Star Wars fans!

At Disney’s D23 Expo today, they revealed an exclusive look at the official poster for the upcoming Star Wars installment, Star Wars: The Force Awakens – and it’s a major nod to the originals! The poster is created by the renowned artist Drew Struzan, who is very well known for creating the spectacular posters for the original Star Wars trilogy, in addition to the second trilogy and more. The poster focuses on returning character (and a fan favorite) Han Solo, and newcomers Finn and Rey, with new villain Kylo Ren on the opposite side. One thing we learn by the new poster (which was already ta  topic of speculation) is that the stormtrooper Finn will obtain a lightsaber, confirming he’s a Jedi in the new film.

Everything we’ve seen so far for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has indicated that they  will definitely take notes from the classic series while launching us into the future of the Star Wars universe, and I don’t think there is one person who can say they aren’t at least somewhat excited for new chapters in the Star Wars franchise. Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18th, and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, and the return of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher among others. Are you loving the new posters for the film?
