“Yes, Santa will also visit your house,” Steven Moffat said in an interview for Gallifrey One when asked whether there would still be a Doctor Who Christmas special in 2013. With this comment he replied to the rumours that the anniversary celebrations, which will for the greatest part also take place around the end of the year, would push out the annual Christmas special.
In the interview, Moffat also announced that the story behind Strax and Madame Vastra is not over yet, and that we will soon find out how the presumably dead Strax suddenly showed his potato-face again in last December’s Christmas special. On this topic, Moffat said that “I of course made the mistake as Doctor Who writers always do of killing off Strax, almost immediately through the door, so I just reversed that.” (Yes Steven, we know about that problem…) Fortunately he was wise enough to resurrect the world’s favourite potato, which promises some great humour in the remainder of series 7!
Other highlights include Russell T. Davies getting some huge praise after Moffat mentioned that he had basically been begging Davies to return, the (somewhat sarcastic) comment that Matt would stay with the show forever and ever, and that we will soon get an extensive look into the interior of the TARDIS. Have a look at the interview for all the details!
