Supernatural: 12×21, There’s Something About Mary

After several mysterious hunter deaths, Sam and Dean are anxious to find Mary after her cryptic phone call in, “There’s Something About Mary.”

Are you ready for “There’s Something About Mary?” One of our favorite newer — but not remotely seen enough hunters — Eileen returns at the beginning of tonight’s episode, only to be torn apart by a hellhound. A hellhound being controlled by Ketch. As if I didn’t already have enough reasons to hate him and the whole lot of British Men of letters (BMOL) … At least EIleen was able to shoot a letter off to the boys before she died explaining that she feared the BMOL and had discovered they had bugged her place.

So how did Ketch get himself a hellhound? As it turns out, he’s been working with Crowley. Part of the lack of demons in Britain is due in part to a deal between the BMOL and Crowley, who has been the one feeding the BMOL much of the background intel on the Winchesters. This revelation makes me wonder if Crowley’s own situation in hell isn’t karma at its best. Down below, Lucifer remains secretly in charge, waiting for his moment to break free. He continues his search for Kelly Kline, even going back to the BMOL for help locating her.

Meanwhile, Sam and Dean rest assured that Mary is fine, visiting a hunter friend. Though we know she’s not. Mary remains held captive by the BMOL, where Lady Toni Bevell is brainwashing her to return her to the pure killer she once was. Mary is beginning to have dreams of killing other hunters but can’t differentiate between what’s real and what are memories implanted by the BMOL.

Back at the bunker, Sam and Dean are starting to put together that BMOL may not only be behind Eileen’s death but the other large number of recent hunter deaths. They become convinced when they find the bug in the bunker. They take advantage of the discovery and set a trap for the BMOL. The boys manage to trap Toni while Mary puts on a show of her own for Ketch.

In hell, Lucifer is free and in control of Crowley, and, after torturing him a little bit, Lucifer stabs him the heart and heads off to find his son. How many times have we seen Crowley die? I’m not overly concerned, though, with the end of the season looming, I suppose anything is possible.

Back at the bunker, where Toni has vomited BMOL truth bombs all over the place, Ketch shows up with Mary. Or sort of Mary … because this woman has a gun, and it’s pointed right at her two sons. Ketch, who has been sparring with Toni for control in the BMOL as it is, traps the boys and Toni in the bunker with no oxygen, and he and Mary take off.

So only one more episode to go, this is not looking great for the boys … and I am not ready to hear “Carry on My Wayward Son.” Are you?
