Disney is about ready to go big in 2016. Walk Disney Studios released the first footage of their new CG-animated film, Moana.
Moana stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho. Cravalho voices the main character of Moana, a young women who uses her fantastic talents to find an island. Johnson plays Maui, the sidekick of the Disney ‘princess’ who helps her find her way through her journey.
In the clip below, we see Maui and Moana are seen starring off into the distance. As they do we see Moana debating if she should leave her home to go on this adventure.

Not a whole lot has been given about the movie except for some plot points. (Sorry no spoilers here.) We do know that Ron Clements and John Musker will direct this film. Clements and Musker are known for their talents in Disney classics like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Princess and The Frog. This will be the first CG-animated film on which the duo will be working together. When they were asked to describe the main character, it was said she was an “indomitable, passionate and a dreamer with a unique connection to the ocean itself.”
Moana hits theaters November 23rd, 2016.
