In case you are still waiting for your letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to arrive (I know I am), there is something magical coming soon to occupy your time: The Quidditch World Cup! This game was, of course, adapted from the wildly successful “Harry Potter” series and has been turned into an actual sport incorporating elements of rugby, dodgeball, and Olympic handball. Just like in the books and movies, there are Chasers, Keepers, Beaters, and Seekers.

Quidditch teams are co-ed and eighty teams from all across the world participate in the World Cup each year. Commentators provide entertainment for the spectators, many of whom dress in magical garb. There’s even a children’s area for young ones to practice their own Quidditch skills!

The World Cup will be held on April 14th and 15th, 2013 in Kissimmee, Florida. In addition to spending two days’ worth of fun watching the games unfold, you also have the opportunity to purchase special after-party tickets! The magical event will take place at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, where guests will have a chance to explore the wonder of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter beginning at 7PM and lasting until 11PM.
