Fashion is a funny thing…everyone likes something different, and while I may think that a dress looks hideous, someone else could think that it’s the most gorgeous gown ever. I’m sure there were many such instances on the Red Carpet for the Oscars tonight. Now, let me say I am not one of those who really pays attention to or cares about designers and such, so there will be no brand/name dropping in this piece. Just my humble opinions of who dazzled me, and who left their shine at home. So without further ado, here are my choices for best and worst dressed.
Worst dressed for me, hands down, had to be Halle Berry. Her dress looked like she had raided Tina Turner’s wardrobe from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. She’s a gorgeous woman, and this dress just did not do her justice.
Runner up and very close second goes to Catherine Zeta-Jones. I really don’t even have words to describe how I feel about this dress. She looks like she was poured and laminated in some weird gold wrapping. Again, I think Catherine is one of the most beautiful women, but this dress was not her finest hour.

I’d also like to take a quick moment to have a gripe session about the mostly colorless red carpet. What ever happened to women wearing actual colors, instead of just black, white, gray/silver, and blush and nude tones? Call me crazy, but I’m a sucker for a bright red, pink, orange, blue, purple, or otherwise colorful dress! Which is why it should be no surprise that my favorites on the red carpet are the ones who added a little color to their life, AND mine.
Throughout the red carpet, Reese Witherspoon was at the top of my list for best dressed. But in the end, once I saw Jennifer Garner, she knocked Reese off of the winner’s podium and took the top spot. I mean, just LOOK at her. She is absolutely flawless. This perfectly lovely dress is flattering in all the right places, and the necklace adds just the right touch to finish her look. Jennifer Garner-flawless and perfect. That is all.
I still have to give an honorable mention to Reese Witherspoon. I feel like she stepped out in old Hollywood glam style. Her hair, her dress-the style, the color, the look…it just all felt so classy and glamorous. I adore her, and I absolutely LOVE her in this dress.
So what about you? Who were your favorites? Do you completely disagree with me, or are we on the same page here? Let me hear from you!
