Nerds and comedy fans alike, rejoice! Les Moonves, the head of CBS, has confirmed that the megahit comedy show, The Big Bang Theory, is going to be renewed for an eighth season, which will premiere this fall.
The Big Bang Theory, which is currently in its seventh season, has been picking up critical acclaim and recognition from awards shows aplenty. Last year it contended in the Emmy category for Outstanding Comedy Series for the third consecutive time, and Jim Parsons won his third Emmy for his role as Sheldon Cooper.
The eighth season of The Big Bang Theory is set to debut this fall, but it will likely move from its regular Monday time to accommodate Thursday Night Football.
