The first trailer for the short film The Blazing World reveals a dazzling world to audiences.

The Blazing World is based on a book by the same name, written in 1666 by Margaret Cavendish, the Duchess of Newcastle. Cavendish was actually one of the first sci-fi writers, with Blazing World portraying the story of a young woman who ends up in another world, making Cavendish additionally one who helped outline the use of dimensional travel in fiction. While all of her ideologies weren’t accepted, The Blazing World has since been discussed for introducing gender equality by trying to offer up a society different from the one of Cavendish’s time.

Actress, screenwriter and director Carlson Young (a unique stand out from MTV’s Scream) will be retelling the story through her own eyes with what looks to be a remarkable short film. The Blazing World trailer depicts gorgeous cinematography with picture perfect visuals that spark an eerie intrigue into the new world. To make the film seem even more impressive, The Blazing World is one of 69 short films selected to be in the Sundance Film Festival category with nearly 9,000 striving to have their work selected.
