Along with the film series, the world of the Ghostbusters also lives on in comic form, where the various characters from across the films bust ghosts from page to page.
Now, the various Ghostbuster teams are coming together in comic book form. Whether you love the original team, the 2016 team, or even the Extreme Ghostbusters, everyone is teaming up to take on some of the franchise’s most well-known baddies thanks to IDW.
The massive crossover is all thanks to the opening of portals that connect the various universes. In a special interview with io9, it was revealed how all the different characters were brought together:
“There are so many potential characters—good, bad, and ectoplasmic—that it’s been a challenge to figure out ways to give everyone a little page time,” writer Erik Burnham said. “Some ghosts didn’t make the cut, and others have been given beefed-up roles due to fan requests.”
In addition to the characters crossing over into other universes, it was revealed that the different art styles used across the comics would be changing depending on which universe the characters found themselves in as well, making it a truly unique experience for Ghostbusters fans who really want to experience every facet of the ghostbusting universe.
