Earlier today we shared the teaser trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The trailer which was introduced by Sir Ian McKellen and Orlando Bloom was shown this morning on The Today Show.
Whilst this trailer showed us much of the excitement of the upcoming darker second part of The Hobbit trilogy, they kept the best bit from us.
By this, of course we mean the introduction of Smaug himself, voiced by the wonderful Benedict Cumberbatch. We finally see and hear Smaug when he meets Bilbo Baggins in his golden lair. Cumberbatch gives an air of menace to the voice of the dragon, the appearance of whom many fans have been waiting a long time for.
Check out the full trailer for the movie which is due for international release on December 11 this year.
